Phyllisia Ross Back Home After Concert Series in Canada

Phyllisia Ross made quite the impression on the folks over the northern border recently. The honey-voiced singer held court during a series of concerts in Canadian cities, mainly Toronto and Montreal.

Phyllisia performed such songs as “Konsa” and “L’Union Fait La Force” for her fans, who sang right along with her.

For her performance in Toronto, Mz. Ross took the stage wearing a tank top and a gold-glitter, nearly-floor-length-skirt. Here she is taking a pause on stage as concert-goers took time to take snaps of her. She’s been wearing her hair naturally for a minute now.

Mz. Ross was an honorary guest in Montreal’s City Hall and gave an acoustic concert the following day. Check out her head wrap in this photo.

With the welcome she got in Canada, it’s a wonder Mz. Ross came back to the USA. But home (in her case, New York) is home.

Wyclef in concert! Were you there? If not, here’s a rundown of how things went. Brooklyn Bowl served as the perfect stage for the hip-hop legend.

Take a look at that guitar. Creative huh? Wyclef has made no secret of Bob Marley’s influence on Haitian music. Did you know that at one point in his career, he performed a remake of “No Woman, No Cry”, one of the most popular songs associated with Bob Marley’s musical legacy.

And speaking of legacy, earlier this year, Wyclef celebrated the 20th Anniversary of The Score the certified classic album that made him a superstar. This June will mark another musical milestone for the hip-hop legend, as it will mark the 19th anniversary of the release of his solo album The Carnival.

His much-anticipated album Clefication still doesn’t have a date, but his fans eagerly await it.

Clef is doing a lot of low-key rebranding.

I actually thought he was wearing a two-piece. This is actually a jumpsuit. Ooh, look at his tan Timbs.

In the fall of last year, Kirk Franklin announced that he would hold a Kirk Franklin Haiti tribute concert in the memory of the victims of Haiti’s 2010 earthquake. That day has come! As of yesterday, the gospel singer landed in Port-au-Prince a day prior to the scheduled concert date.

He shared videos of himself as he made his way through the Port-au-Prince Toussaint Louverture airport. He was greeted by a group of fans, who had their cameras and smartphone ready as he waved. Members of Haiti’s press and media were also on hand to welcome the singer.

Franklin showed social media voyeurs his hotel room which was covered with a sheet with custom embroidery that read: Welcome Kirk Franklin.

Earlier, he also shown fans a personal visual view of the streets of Petionville, as he cruised through that suburb of Port-au-Prince.
