Entrepreneur Christine Souffrant Vendedy

Well, well, well. I want to act surprised, but I am not at all too floored that Haitian-American entrepreneur Christine Souffrant won $15,000 from the generous folks at MasterCard Business for her elevator pitch entry. As you dear readers know, Christine is the founder of Vendedy, a mobile app company that she founded to connect street vendors with global travelers. This girl has got drive and gumption!

Christine is the daughter and the grand-daughter of vending entrepreneurs. She’s also a speaker, having addressed women entrepreneurs at the Women 2.0 conference. Chivas, a venture capital firm, selected her as one of the finalists for their Venture contest.

The MasterCard Business Card Priceless Surprises prize will go towards Christine’s Vendedy business expansion initiatives.

So, ahem, I’d like to send heartfelt congratulations to this kreyolicious cherie who’s an inspiration to many. Her business sense and foresight has gotten her to where she is, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up making the cover of one of those highly-circulated business magazines.
