Kreyolicious Music: @SaskyaSky Touch My Body

Saskya Sky Touch My Body
Singer-songwriter and performer Sasky Sky has released “Touch My Body” a single from her upcoming EP. She’s showing that not only can she sing female empowerment tracks like “Pretty Girl Whip”, and heartbreak anthems like “Alo” (her Creole-language remake of British singer Adele’s “Hello”), but that she can also get sensual if she so desires. And speaking of sensual, “Touch My Body” is unlike any other track she’s released before. The beat is faster, and very, very wild. The track is produced by beatmaker OGE Beats, with engineer work done by Edward Rogers.

And what of the lyrics? Well, she’s definitely bold.

Check out a sample of the lyrics (written by her):

And on another verse, she coos:

Oh baby put it on
Don’t hold back give it all to me
I’m giving you my all I’m here to please
Doing my thing to the sound of the beat
I can be your dancing queen
Moving my body like you’ve never seen
Baby let me show you what we can be
Boom boom pow baby I can breathe

Well, Saskya!

This song reminded me of Whitney Houston’s classic song “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”—in that both singers portray dancing as not something casual, but something you can only do with someone who you truly care about—-and who cares about you. The following lyrics are from the song’s bridge:

When we dance, I lose control
My body’s on fire, its burning up
I lose my balance
It’s so amazing
It’s so exciting
Wish it never ends

You can listen to the actual song below!

Watch out for the EP to be released soon. Meanwhile, keep up with Saskya…

ABOUT K. St Fort K. St. Fort is the Editor and Founder of, well, Kreyolicious.com and wishes to give you a heartfelt welcome to her site. She loves to read, write, and listen to music and is fascinated by her Haitian roots, and all aspects of her culture. Speaking of music, she likes it loud, really, really loud. Like bicuspid valve raising-loud. Her other love are the movies. She was once a Top 50 finalist for a student screenwriting competition, encouraging her to continue pounding the pavement. She has completed several screenplays, with Haiti as the backdrop, one of which tackles sexual abuse in an upper middle class Haitian family, while another has child slavery as its subject. She is currently completing another script, this time a thriller, about two sisters who reunite after nearly 10 years of separation. A strong believer in using films to further educational purposes, and to raise awareness about important subjects, she has made it a point to write about social issues facing Haiti, and making them an integral part of her projects. She has interviewed such Haitian-American celebrities as Roxane Gay, Garcelle Beauvais, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Briana Roy, Karen Civil, and many, many more. And that’s her writing this whole biographical sketch. She actually thinks writing about herself in the third person is cute.
